Masters London Leviatán crush EDG to reach grand final — first international final in org history

Leviatán demolished EDward Gaming in the Masters London semifinals to reach their first-ever international VALORANT grand final. They'll face Paper Rex or the winner of G2 vs Sentinels.

Leviatán just made history. The Latin American squad demolished EDward Gaming in the Masters London semifinals to reach their first-ever international VALORANT grand final. For an organization that’s been building toward this moment for years, it’s a massive milestone.

The series wasn’t even close. Leviatán came out with a game plan that completely neutralized EDG’s attack. Their defense on B site was suffocating — EDG kept trying to force through and kept dying. Keznit and Shao were absolutely locking down angles, and TenZ (yes, that TenZ — more on him later) was playing with a confidence we haven’t seen from him in a VALORANT jersey before.

EDG had been one of the tournament favorites coming in. They topped their group with a 2-0 record, including a dominant win over Paper Rex. But against Leviatán’s preparation and execution, they just couldn’t find answers. The Chinese squad looked lost in the second half of both maps, defaulting into predictable setups that Leviatán read perfectly.

Now Leviatán waits for the winner of G2 vs Sentinels in the other semifinal. Either matchup presents different challenges. G2’s individual firepower and BABYBAY’s integration into the team make them dangerous in a different way than EDG. Sentinels, on the other hand, have the experience and TenZ factor — though whether TenZ will play or serve more as a content/brand presence remains to be seen.

Speaking of TenZ — he officially joined T1 VALORANT as an influencer recently, which has the community buzzing about a potential Faker collaboration. Whether he actually plays competitive VALORANT for T1 or stays in the content space is still unclear, but his name alone is driving viewership numbers.

Masters London’s grand final is June 21 at the Copper Box Arena. The winner takes home significant VCT points and, more importantly, international tournament credibility. For Leviatán, it’s a chance to prove that Latin American VALORANT belongs at the top table. For whoever they face, it’s a chance to add a Masters trophy to the cabinet.

The VCT 2027 format changes announced this week make this even more significant — the shift from league play to an all-tournament format means every international event matters more for global standings. A deep Masters London run could set a team up for the entire 2027 season.
